“At Stand-Out Theatre School, our mission is to provide professional, high-quality training in a safe, nurturing, and pressure-free environment where every child can shine. We aim to inspire future generations by building confidence, encouraging individuality, and offering the opportunities, experiences and encouragement that spark a lifelong love for performing.”

The story

Founded by Shannon.

Stand-Out Theatre School was founded by Shannon, a professional musical theatre artist and educator determined to create the kind of training space she always wished she’d had as a child: professional, supportive, and pressure-free.

Together with a team of industry-trained teachers and coaches, she has built a place where every student is celebrated for who they are. No talent goes unnoticed. No child gets overlooked.

We’ve had students on CBBC, on the pitch at Falkirk FC, and on Fifth Avenue with the Tartan Day Parade. But the real measure is the parent who tells us their child finally found somewhere they belong.

More about Shannon.

Shannon is the owner and principal teacher at Stand-Out Theatre School. Over the past five years she has taught at numerous performing arts schools across the Central Belt, inspiring students of all ages to find their unique voice and confidence on stage.

Driven by the belief that every child deserves a chance to shine, Shannon founded Stand-Out Theatre School to create a space where students can take centre stage and be themselves, no matter their level or experience. She graduated from The Scottish Institute of Theatre, Dance, Television and Film in 2018, and later gained her Musical Theatre Degree at New Clan Arts in Motherwell.

She is an active musical theatre performer, regularly auditioning for roles on London’s West End and in TV and film. Her early career included modelling and commercial work as a child for brands such as Haven Holidays and The Job Centre, experiences that have enriched her perspective as both an artist and a teacher. Shannon is also 1/3 of the UK’s number one Little Mix tribute act, having just wrapped a UK tour.

Other theatre credits include Judy Brown in Paddington Bear Adventures, Char in Blue Jean (BBC Films), Sylvia Hollamby and Dance Captain in Bad Girls, and Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde. She has worked as the on-stage swing in Wizard of Oz at the Tron Theatre, and played Cinderella in A Crackin’ Cinderella Story at Websters Theatre in 2023.

Shannon loves teaching her SOTS stars, and has a special place in her heart for every single one of them.
